Volunteer Ambassadors Leads

Volunteer Ambassadors Leads are full-time sophomores, juniors, or seniors with experience in volunteerism or event planning. VA Leads help create awareness of volunteer opportunities for all KSU students, help promote student engagement in community service, and demonstrate active citizenship! VA Leads will work as a team to create marketing material, plan service projects and Alternative Breaks.

Program Requirements:

  • Bi-weekly meetings and one-on-ones with staff
  • Commit to at least two hours of office hours a week
  • Attend Advanced Leader League Trainings throughout the year
  • Create marketing material such as monthly newsletter 
  • Alternative Break (AB) Coordinators will need to attend training to be AB Site Leads and able to train other Site Leads throughout the year.
  • Achieve 10 hours of volunteer work per semester
  • Year requirement (May-May)

 Service Events

Volunteer Ambassadors will help the Department of Student Leadership and Service with the following events:

  • Monthly off-campus service trips. Transportation is provided from campus. Service Saturdays are a great way to meet other students and work as a team to make a positive impact in our community! Virtual options will be used as necessary.

  • Service projects will be held on the Marietta and Kennesaw campuses during homecoming week to engage students in service projects to benefit both KSU and the local community!

  •  

    Each year SLS holds a Student Leadership Conference. This conference helps students learn how to be a leader in their every day lives and how to enhance their leadership skills. VA Leads are required to attend and volunteer for the conference. 

     

  •  

    Week long experience dedicated to raising awareness of homelessness in the community and on college campuses.

     

  •  

    During the months of November and December, the Holiday Giving Tree provides students, staff, and faculty an easy opportunity to give to those in need during the holiday season.

     

  •  

    There will be multiple service sites on campus and in the surrounding community for students to make their day off from classes a day on for creating an impact! MLK Day 2021 is on Monday January 17.

    Pre-register for KSU’s large community service event! Day of Service 2022 will be updated soon! There are different service sites to choose from including ones right on campus. Transportation is provided to service sites from campus. Come meet students, staff, faculty, and alumni while giving back to the community at this fun and impactful event!
