Volunteer Ambassadors Leads

Volunteer Ambassadors Leads are full-time sophomores, juniors, or seniors with experience in volunteerism or event planning. VA Leads help create awareness of volunteer opportunities available to all KSU students, help promote student engagement in community service, and demonstrate active citizenship! Leads will work as a team to create marketing material, plan service projects and Alternative Breaks, and lead the VA Street Team.

Program Requirements:

  • Bi-weekly meetings and one-on-ones with staff
  • Lead monthly Street Team meetings
  • Commit to at least two hours of office hours a week
  • Attend Advanced Leader League Trainings in May and January
  • Alternative Break (AB) Coordinators will need to attend training to be AB Site Leads and able to train other Site Leads throughout the year.
  • Achieve 10 hours of volunteer work per semester
  • Year requirement (May-May)

 

Volunteer Ambassors Street Team

The Volunteer Ambassadors Street Team is a group of KSU students that are actively seeking volunteer opportunities and are passionate about serving their community. The Street Team is a part of the Volunteer Ambassadors community and assists with community service project, volunteer events on campus, and marketing. The Street Team uses their passion and expertise to make an impact on KSU and the surrounding community. They receive a volunteerism newsletter to get information about volunteer opportunities, events, and information about Alternative Breaks first.

Program Requirements:

  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Opt-in to the VA Newsletter
  • Volunteer at 2 community service events per semester
  • Assist with tabling and marketing opportunities
  • Abide by Community Standards

 

Service Events

Volunteer Ambassadors will help the Department of Student Leadership and Service with the following events:

  • Monthly off-campus service trips. Transportation is provided from campus. Service Saturdays are a great way to meet other students and work as a team to make a positive impact in our community!

  • Service projects will be held on the Marietta and Kennesaw campuses during homecoming week to engage students in service projects to benefit both KSU and the local community!

    During the months of November and December, the Holiday Giving Tree provides students, staff, and faculty an easy opportunity to give to those in need during the holiday season.

    There will be multiple service sites on campus and in the surrounding community for students to make their day off from classes a day on for creating an impact!

     

  •  

    Pre-register for KSU’s large community service event on March 21, 2020! There are different service sites to choose from including ones right on campus. Transportation is provided to service sites from campus. Come meet students, staff, faculty, and alumni while giving back to the community at this fun and impactful event!
